“Growing up, I was fascinated by human relationships: the things we say, the things we hide, and the ways we come to form beliefs about one another.
I was equally curious about the world beyond my own. I wondered when Afghanistan had last been a place people could travel to freely, what everyday life looked like during different periods of Indian history, and how people lived beyond the headlines.
I want to make films that bring those two curiosities together, exploring the world through the people living in it, and asking questions about what we choose to see, and what we don’t.”

The world is vast.
Stories are human.
From the battlefields of Ukraine to the quiet tensions of a family home, from the ethics of photojournalism to the fracturing of human relationships, we’re interested in the lives unfolding beneath the headlines and the stories that connect seemingly different worlds.

Stories that bring the world closer
Amour Media develops and produces narrative films, documentaries, editorial video, and social-first storytelling.
We make original work and collaborate with filmmakers, publications, journalists, nonprofits, and organizations to bring stories to the screen. Our film collaborations range from developing original concepts and producing existing scripts to joining projects already in development or production.
On the editorial side, we can work from existing reporting, identify stories with strong visual potential, or develop original concepts around a partner’s priorities. Our work spans development, research, production, and post-production, with an approach tailored to each project.
How We Work
01
Initial Conversation
We begin with the story, existing reporting, editorial goals, intended audience, format, and available production budget.
02
Scope & Proposal
Amour Media develops a proposed creative approach, production scope, timeline, and budget. This may include identifying existing reporting with strong potential for documentary, editorial, or social-first adaptation.
03
Commission & Funding
Once the scope and budget are approved and funding is secured, the project is formally commissioned and moves into development and production.
04
Development & Pre-Production
We develop the treatment, narrative structure, visual approach, interviews, archival needs, and production plan in collaboration with the partner and relevant journalists or subjects.
05
Production
Amour Media manages production, from interviews and field shoots to local crew coordination and remote or on-location direction.
06
Post-Production & Delivery
We shape the material into the final film, integrating footage, interviews, archive, graphics, and other visual elements, and deliver any agreed-upon social cutdowns or platform-specific versions.
Have a Story to tell?
From story development through final delivery documentary, editorial film, social-first storytelling, and production partnerships.
Stories take different forms. So do our collaborations.
Amour Media works with publications, journalists, nonprofits, and other organizations to develop stories for the screen, from documentary and editorial films to social-first video.
We can work from existing reporting, collaborate with editorial teams to identify stories with strong visual potential, or develop original concepts around a partner’s editorial priorities.
Each collaboration begins with a conversation about the story, format, editorial goals, and available production budget. From there, we develop a proposed creative approach, scope, timeline, and budget.
Our Project Gallery

The personal inside the political.
We tell stories about people living within larger political systems, and the ways those systems enter our relationships, identities, memories, choices, and everyday lives.
